Murata Machinery has introduced its first-ever vertical turning lathe, the Muratec MVH600, at JIMTOF, where the machine has drawn significant visitor interest, according to the company.
The MVH600 made its international debut at Murata Machinery’s exhibition booth during the manufacturing trade show. Muratec described the automated vertical turning lathe as its next development for large-part production.
Visitors to the booth included attendees from North America, the company said. The machine’s unveiling positions the MVH600 as a new addition to Muratec’s CNC machine and automation offering for manufacturers handling larger workpieces.
According to Muratec, the MVH600 is designed to move and process parts measuring up to 24 inches and weighing as much as 220 pounds. The company said further demonstrations of the machine handling large parts are expected soon.
No production, operating-hour or printing-hour results were reported in the post. Muratec’s claims regarding the machine’s capabilities and its reception at JIMTOF have not been independently verified.
